MISS RODEO WYOMING 2011 PAGEANT RESULTS Brittany Richards, Miss Butch Cassidy Days from Laramie, took home the honors of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2011. The Miss Rodeo Wyoming pageant was held in Douglas, WY August 17-21, 2010 during the Wyoming State Fair. There were 8 young women vying for the title of Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2011 from across the sate. Contestants included Kiley Boe, Miss Cody Stampede from Cody; Desiree Bridges, Miss Teton County Fair and Rodeo from Jackson; Ashlee Estel, Miss All Around from Cheyenne; Amber Ezell, Carbon County Fair and Rodeo Queen from Rawlins; Jamie Pond, Albany County Farm Bureau Queen from Laramie; Shawna Praeuner, Miss Rodeo Weston County from Newcastle; and Chrissy Wilmetti, Sweetwater County Rodeo Queen from Rock Springs. The contestants were judged by a panel of three highly qualified judges including Tricia Schaffer of NE, John Young, DVM of CO and Zona Vig of SD. Erin Heffron, Miss Rodeo Wyoming 2010, was on hand for the awards ceremony. The Wyoming State Fair Director, James Goodrich presented the saddle to Brittany. Brittany took home the categories of horsemanship, personality, and appearance. She also won the sales achievement award, knowledge award and the speech award. The first runner-up went to Desiree Bridges, the Teton County Fair & Rodeo Queen of Jackson. Desiree also won the scrapbook and photogenic award. The second runner-up went to Shawna Praeuner, Miss Rodeo Weston County of Newcastle. Shawna also won the category of congeniality. Jamie Pond, Albany County Farm Bureau Queen from Laramie, won the most programs sold award. Brittany Richards is the daughter of Loren and Chris and calls Laramie home. The dream and desire of being Miss Rodeo Wyoming has never been far from her heart. She recently graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Business Administration. While enrolled at the university she was active in Alpha Kappa Psi, a professional business honorary. Brittany will be planning a fall coronation fundraiser in Laramie.

2009 Miss Rodeo Wyoming, Allie Bass won the prestigious award of horsemanship and received a beautiful saddle with silver trim. She was also in the top 10 where she received a Montana Silversmith buckle, won the western regional scholarship, and the Raeana Wadhams Spirit Award. The spirit award is given to the contestant who shows sportsmanship and a good attitude. Congratulations Allie, on a job well done! The title of Miss Rodeo America 2010 went to Kelli Jackson of Mississippi, the first Miss Rodeo America for Mississippi.

Erin is the daughter of Andy and Sue Heffron and calls Alta home. Growing up in the shadows of the Tetons gave her a lifelong respect for the outdoors and the western way of life. She has been heavily involved in 4-H, was the team captain of her cross-country and track teams in high school, and also competed in high school rodeo. When not horseback, Erin enjoys running, hiking, and photography. Erin is currently a senior at the University of Wyoming obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and Spanish. Erin encourages people of all ages to “Accentuate the Positive.” She lives by the quote, “Whether you think you can, or whether you think you can’t, you are right.” Erin will be planning a fall coronation fundraiser in Jackson.
